Joel, one of our heroes, finds himself on the planet San-soon when he chases Sara and some Gerbin through a portal from Earth.  He tries to adapt while he does his best not to die too quickly.  This is this his story.  Other people are in it too.  Some of them he likes.  Some of them he kills. Kirk-len-bree is the the stuff of legends.  He once wielded the Axe of the Bree and could call fire from the sky.  He is generally nice as long as Eldin-gar is leaving him alone which isn't happening very often.  He's also kind of moody since his woman has been a slave for twenty years.
Channelors are a race who have the power to create portals from world to world.  They are a generally a quiet race who are  dominated by Eldin-gar but would rather be exploring the cosmos.  Too bad for them.   Dale, the twin of his brother, Dell, is a elf of the Ammi tribe.  Considered young by their tribe, Dell is about 112 years old.  He can usually be found trying to enjoy life on the fields of Parn and ditching kitchen duties.
Dell is the twin brother of Dale and the more grounded of the two.  He enjoys the outdoors, killing gerbin and avoiding being the lunch of  ban-dra-kans.  Like his brother, he is very skilled with archery, but left handed instead of right. Elder Dern is a pacifist by nature and is one of the older elves of the Ammi tribe.  He also serves as one of their most trusted leaders.  He becomes close to Spree as he tries to understand him.  He takes life way too seriously but looks for beauty in everything.
Lord Eldin-gar is one very bad person.  He controls seven of the eight known worlds.  His hobbies include drinking dragon blood, collecting slaves, and sending his children to far away planets.  Ya gotta love him...or else!  Oh yeah, and watch the horns. Gerbin Slavers are the biological cousins of gerbins.  They are usually found as guard captains and mine supervisors.  They tried farming but it didn't agree with them since they dislike the sun...and honest work.
Gerbin are the fodder troops of Eldin-gar.   But don't tell them that.   They enjoy pillaging, making poison, and overcast moonlit nights.  Although only three to four feet tall, they are all muscle and use blow darts with great precision. Ar-na is a priest.  His sect is known for their natural powers of levitation and powerful telepathy which is powerful enough to reach different planets controlled by their master, Lord Eldin-gar.
Joolen is a Mirthian.  She lives under ground close to the mines of Tan-tar.  When she's not busy getting rescued she's busy hiding from Tir-nan, who runs the slaves down the cavern from hers.  He is generally not a nice neighbor. The barran makes a saber tooth tiger look like a small cute kitten.  Read as they cut through our heroes like a bowl of tasty deserts.  These things are so mean they have their own theme song. Meow?
The lake dragon never talked to anyone long enough before they were eaten to find out its name.  When it isn't eating people by the lake, its waiting to eat people by the lake.  It enjoys long swims and eating people by the lake.  Also, it enjoys eating people by the lake very much. Loris-dun, a dakeen, is half dwarf and half elf.  He served Eldin-gar for awhile but now makes his living as a tour guide to Eldin-gar's primary stronghold, Shadow Keep usually a one way trip for everyone involved except for him.  He avoids hanging around with friends since he doesn't have any.
The renda-kah, who has an exoskeleton and knife edged arms make it an ugly face to wake up to in the morning.  If you get a piece of its ear though, you can have one of your very own because then they will obey your commands.  Eldin-gar has all the ears he can carry. San-lo-ker is a fisherman, woodsman, and hermit by trade.  He likes log cabins and being alone.  He dislikes wraths hanging around his land.  He likes gerbin even less.  He dislikes them enough to leave the lonely life and help Joel take a few of them out.
Sara.  Ahhh, Sara.  Joel sees her once and its enough to jump through a portal and start fighting the bad guys.  She has her hands full while she's trying not to die as one of the slaves mining for Eldin-gar.  But what is she mining for exactly? Grapplers are the steeds of the gerbin.  They are able to clime trees and run great distances very quickly.  Although not vicious by nature, they have been engineered recently by Eldin-gar to be wicked pets of mass destruction.
Crutis-roc is a dwarf who doesn't mess around.  He is usually short on words and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty with the blood of his enemies.  He is an old friend of Kirk-len-bree and they have shared many adventures together on San-soon.  Ben-da-ridge, normally a really tough dwarf is here not having a great day.  But ask yourself, if you had an arrow in your chest how good would your day be? His battle hardened lineage is put to the test as he helps Joel find Sara and face off against Eldin-gar's forces.
Bacca, a gem of the Caralee human tribe, dislikes Eldin-gar almost as much as she hates her own sacrifice.  She does like swimming in the nude though.  We're sure of that.  Will she find happiness when she runs into Spree or will she find she's a raging lunatic like the rest of her people? The old guy.  He likes to jump around the eight known worlds and generally confuse anyone in close proximity.  Is he hiding something?  We'd say more, but then you would be confused.  What was I saying?
Spree is named after his favorite candy.  He was in the Coast Guard once but it didn't stick.  Maybe he'll like San-soon more.  He's just a guy trying not to commit to anyone or anything.  Too bad  for him Baca doesn't feel the same way. Tir-nan, the estranged son of Eldin-gar likes running the slave mines of Tan-tar as much as he likes his father... not very much.  To pass the time he enjoys feeding the lake dragon slaves.
